Somewhere new

We went out for Sunday lunch on…………yes you guessed it….Sunday, and visited Nastas on the corner of car hire road before the ring road. I’ve never been here before, I don’t know why, just never got round to it I suppose. Junior was most excited because her new found love of chips means that she’s guaranteed of something to eat wherever we go! She was not disappointed here as their chips were freshly made and utterly delicious. She didn’t just munch on chips however, she dipped them in fava.

We also ordered a cucumber and tomato salad, potatoes in the oven and onion pie. Unfortunately the potatoes came with butter on them and the onion pie had cheese in! Oh well, here’s a picture of the salad.

On the subject of trying new things. We were on the island for easter and managed to do lots of new things – even after visiting several times a year for 10 years and living there for 6 months. We…. went to Glisteri, (don’t know why we’ve never been before), went to Sendukia – uterly beautiful. Walked several of the “Skopelos trails” on the Calderimi, and best of all – sunset picnics on Kastani – just breathtaking. Took cushions, snacks and drinks and settled down to watch the best light show I’ve ever seen. Sally x
It’s definitely easier to do those things without too many people about or the temperature being too high. I always think you see more out of season that you do in!
