Foreign goodies

Since Sean came back from England we have been feasting on the vegan food he brought back, trying not to eat it all too quickly. As well as the essentials of tea, peanut butter and brown sauce(!) he also paid a visit to a couple of health food stores in London and came back with vegan cheese, vegan cream, vegan bangers and rashers, chocolate spread, jellies etc etc. Needless to say, his luggage allowance was solely taken up with food and he just wore the clothes he had! He spent rather a lot of money on the vegan delights but we don’t have them very often so that’s okay :-)

I don’t think that age old question of “what do you eat?” gets any easier with time. I used to say “everything except meat, fish, milk, eggs, cheese and milk” but people are rarely satisified with that so instead here is my list of some of the food I have eaten this week;

vegan rashers and mushrooms on crusty bread
homemade veggie burgers with melted vegan mozzarella on a bun
homemade pizza with mushrooms, onions, tomato, sweetcorn and vegan mozzarella
vegan sausages on a tortilla wrap
peanut butter sandwiches (yum)
copious quantities of homemade oat biscuits.

That’s not everything obviously but it’s all I can remember! I’ll try and take a few more pictures instead of gobbling everything up and then remembering I should have photographed it first.

    Having been veggie for over a year now, i can’t believe that I ever wondered ‘what do you eat?!’ … our diet is so much more varied, adventurous and tasty nowadays. Tonight we are having tofu stir-fry with a sesame mustard tahini sauce … yum indeed ;-) Enjoy your goodies!
