Winter cold
Well the snow has nearly gone from around the house and it never even reached into town! However it is still cold and although I know it is nothing to compare with the temperatures in the rest of Europe, winter in a house built for summer is not pleasant. We have electric heaters on and both junior and I have our hot water bottles (one of the world’s finest inventions I believe) but still it is not pleasant. Junior can’t even go to school for a warm because they closed it yesterday for a week due to swine flu. Yes, you did hear right – swine flu. The senior school was already closed a couple of days previously. Junior has a cold but I stress the word cold, and I suspect the vast majority of children who were absent from school also have a cold. Oh well, junior’s teacher is sending homework by email so at least I’ll be able to keep her moderately busy!

Morning Helen, Junior, and of course Sean…although it is Monday here, so he is likely in Volos? I am so glad Sean emailed your blog info. It is fun to live through your eyes, your experiences. I really appreciated the comment ” what they don’t know, they make up” . about people around you… I suppose I gave them a fair bit to run with, so not sure what to expect when I come back…anyway, stay warm, and stay in touch…Laurie
Hi Laurie, it’s not as cold as where you are but it still feels pretty chilly at the moment.
Hope to see you when you return.
Take care
Hi, found you via fancifulAlice. I must say cold temperatures are everywhere. Here in Croatia we have been bombarded with rain and although no snow yet, this has been a wet and cold winter..
saludos.

Hi Elisa, our winter cold seems to have passed for now. I’ve just got back from walking the dogs and it’s 24 degrees although I don’t think it will last very long. Determined to make the most of it though so we’re off to picnic on the beach later
