New Year, New Post
Here’s to the first post of the New Year – so Happy New Year to one and all, especially those poor souls still battling with snow and cold, which appears to be most of Europe and America! Here in Skopelos we remain blessed with sunshine and mild temperatures which drew the crowds to the Blessing of the Seas in town today for Epiphany.

The pictures are supplied by Sean as I couldn’t see much because a. I’m not particularly blessed in the height department (even with heels on) and b. I was holding a fractious child on top of a bench because she was desperate to see the cross being thrown in the water. There were only two fairly hardy individuals prepared to accept the challenge of retrieving the cross and Sean managed to get a picture of one of them entering the water.

The weather was certainly better than last year and the cafes were full of people in their Sunday best (even though it’s Wednesday!).
The sun has been shining fairly consistently since 1st January when we went to Kastani so junior could indulge her love of beaches.

She was born to be a beachcomber or a beach bum depending on which way you choose to look at it!

Hard to believe those pictures were taken in January but I’m sure the weather will change fairly soon.

Happy New Year,
always sunshine in your hearts and in this blessed island.
Thanks for these nice pictures, you help us dreaming of the summer again. Hoping to meet you soon in Fotini for a tsipouro
