Feeling spicy
With junior’s birthday coming up next week and subsequently, her party, she has once again requested a cupcake cake. Sean has requested the lemon and coconut flavours from last year and junior has put in a request for carrot and chocolate (not together though!). Maybe this time I’ll get to try some.
I was telling junior yesterday about all the lovely cakes my mum used to make when I was younger and we decided to try our hand at a ginger cake. Junior loves gingerbread men so figured she’d be equally enamoured of ginger cake. She wasn’t. Oh she was all enthusiastic in the making of it, licking the bowl and sniffing the ginger. She even squealed with delight on biting into the cake, but then she slowed and decided she wouldn’t finish it as it wasn’t really that nice! I enjoyed it though and I enjoyed it all over again a couple of minutes ago ![]()

Whether there will be any left by the time Sean gets back from England is anybody’s guess.
Last week, being in a spicy mode (food wise at least), I made a lentil and rice combo with indian spices that was so simple to make and yet so tasty that it is set to become one of my favourites. Sean had about three helpings whilst junior moaned over her small plateful (and not with delight obviously).

Sean will be back at the weekend bearing foodie goodies from England so be prepared for a picture fest.
