Fairy Fantastic
It’s not often that I get recipe ideas from children’s comics, but after much pestering from Junior I did finally make the cookies from her fairy magazine and aren’t I glad I did. They were so utterly delicious that I’ve vowed not to make them again for quite a well! Weird? No, just self preservation. If I made them as often as I could eat them then I’d probably become the fattest vegan around (and definitely the fattest vegan on Skopelos). Involving two of my favourite things, chocolate and digestive biscuits, they took little time to make and no time to cook – because they went in the fridge. As I’m missing them already, here’s a picture to console myself with ![]()

I’m salivating already!
I’ve been cooking a bit more recently in the vain belief that September is generally cooler than August and therefore I won’t mind spending some time getting hot and bothered in the kitchen! If anything though it seems set to be warmer than last month. Never mind, at least Junior is broadening her horizons a bit more. She’s been eating my homemade hummus, even though she says the garlic makes her tongue tingle, trying homemade burgers and mild curries. I’ve found that if I explain which parts of her meal are protein, carbs etc, she seems more inclined to eat them. Strange but true and if it works then I don’t really care.
