Long time coming
It was a long time coming but I finally got the curry I wanted. I’ve been eagerly anticipating it since last year and Sean’s sister visiting was the ideal excuse to go over to Skiathos and visit the Bombay Garden. I had poppadoms (of course) and a vegetable biryani whilst Junior ate her poppadoms (which she’s always loved) with mango chutney and a chapatti which I explained was like a thicker tortilla, because she loves tortilla. She wasn’t so keen on her mushroom bhajee as the mushrooms weren’t identifiable enough – children have the strangest ideas! The visit to the curry house did spur me on to make a mammoth batch of onion bhaji’s which Junior wasn’t keen on although she did munch her way through a couple of poppadoms. I do miss my Friday night takeaway curry – guess I’ll have to just make my own.
I’m writing this post in the Alkistis Hotel because not only do they have a super fast internet connection and a box of lego for Junior to play with, but they also do some pretty tasty food such as felafals and tabbouleh – junior dines on a plate of pasta, so no surprise there then.
Junior has continued to surprise me on the tofu front which means I now have to share all the tofu goodies Sean brings back from Volos, including some tofu ’salami’slices which I thought I’d get all to myself as Junior may find them too spicy – she didn’t and so I had to share and they were gone in a couple of days. Oh well, when we move to the mainland I’ll be able to replenish stocks so much easier.
