Vices

I don’t have many vices, I don’t drink to excess and I’ve never smoked but there is one thing I must have at least once a day – chocolate of course ;-) I therefore see nothing wrong with paying a bit extra for a quality bar (or more accurately, I don’t object to Sean paying a bit more!). I’ve just finished this bar which Madam didn’t like fortunately so I got to eat it all to myself. choc.jpgGood job really at €8 a bar.
Apart from indulging in chocolate, I’ve also been sampling the hummus in Englezos restaurant in town, and very fine hummus it is too! Sean doesn’t get a look in as junior and I share a portion between us. Long may Spiros keep it on his menu. I know it’s not a traditional Greek dish but where’s the harm in including something on your menu just because it tastes great and is popular. Give me taste over authenticity any day.
Something else I’m rather enjoying at the moment are the yeast pates from tartex brought over all the way from Scotland by a very kind lady who I encountered through Trip Advisor. She also brought vecon yeast extract, which is a cupboard staple, and junior got dairy free chocolate buttons and lollies. So she was rather happy (massive understatement!).
Junior’s been doing quite well food wise recently. The other day she ate aubergine for the first time and has developed a penchant for tofu sausages. Of course pasta and pesto remains her absolute favourite food but at least she’ll try other things. Now if only it wasn’t so damn hot I might actually feel like cooking ;-)
