Not all fun in the sun

Well Junior is now off school for three whole months’ – read it and weep – I do! I must have been extremely wicked in a former life because there is absolutely no rest for me at the moment. Housework slid by the wayside a long time ago but even letting that slide I still have to entertain the child, feed it and get work done, which Sean keeps piling on me. He thinks I should just get on the computer and crack on with the work whilst ignoring the constant whining of the bored 5 year old at my side, but he only says that because she doesn’t expect him to entertain her. Not only can I not ignore her, I don’t want to – it’s not fair to expect her to get on with her own thing whilst I sit in front of the computer all day. So anybody who thinks living on a small Greek island is one long holiday can think again. I’m now sat here working on the computer (I don’t mean writing this blog!) at ten o’clock at night with a good few hours work ahead of me. I’m not looking for sympathy, and I’m sure I won’t get any, but I think I need a holiday!
It’s not been all work and no play, we have been out, mainly to eat and drink but it gets us out of the house! We also went to Limnonari yesterday because a couple of friends were already down there and texted for us to join them. They promised to take junior in the water so Sean and I could sit in the shade. It seemed an offer too good to miss especially as junior immediately wants to build sandcastles when she steps onto the beach. She didn’t disappoint! She had Helene and Chris running around after her, finding the right sized pebbles and fetching water. They didn’t seem to mind and junior does so love having new acolytes!
