Bespoke Bunny

After last weeks flan triumph, I decided to make a couple more so that Sean could try it as well and so that he could take one to Volos with him and at least eat properly one day! This time I also decided to take pictures. So here’s a pic of the baked flan case

which I think looks like a giant digestive. This time was better than last as it rolled fine without cracking so no patch up jobs were necessary. After filling the shell and baking in the oven this is what appeared,

which, although not as generously filled as last time as I had to share it between two flans, still came out tasting pretty damned good. I’m quite hooked now and don’t know what will happen when I’ve used up all the cream freebies in the fridge!
The great vegan Easter egg hunt has been successful and junior is now the proud owner of a bespoke egg! After giving up with internet options, Sean informed me that his apartment in Volos is next to a chocolate shop. He went to inquire about dark chocolate eggs and the lady in the shop phoned the chocolate maker in Athens who has now made Junior her own completely vegan egg. Sean sent me a picture of it earlier and it looks much too good for a 5 year old to have, even one who is a dark chocolate connoisseur like junior. Once he brings it back on Saturday I’ll post a picture of it in all its glory and then try and keep junior away from it for another week – placing it on a high shelf should do it. Now, what’s the Easter bunny bringing me………..?
