Popcorn

Well I made the popcorn and unbelievably enough I LIKED it. In fact Sean and I ate most of it with junior only having a couple of mouthfuls. My daughter has the strange belief that if it comes in a packet then it will be better than anything mummy makes. I think I had this same belief when I was younger – rebelling against a mother who always provided home cooked food. Strange I know, but then again, children are strange. Anyway, back to the popcorn. I’ve come to the conclusion that my problem was the smell of the butter. At the cinema, the warm smell of heating buttery popcorn would just make me gag and so I’ve associated all popcorn with that. Opening a packet of Butterkist would be like sticking my head in a cesspit it smells that revolting. Just goes to show that you should try things even if you don’t think you’ll like them (just having a little dig at junior there which is pretty pointless as she doesn’t read the blog!).
We’ve just made some chocolate brownies at junior’s request. I wanted to make chocolate fudge cake but she prefers to stick to what she knows, no surprise there then. She also knows that they don’t take long to make so she’ll be able to have one soon. Mercenary child. In fact, I think I’ll go and see if they’ve cooled down. Yum!
