Bad things come in two’s?
Not a great start to the New Year, after losing Ben, on Tuesday we lost Susie as well. She seemed to start showing signs of ageing after Ben had died but unlike him she was still going out and appeared nimble and basically okay. She wandered off to die alone, although, of course, we didn’t know that was what she was doing. I found her on Tuesday afternoon and brought her back to be buried next to Ben. We’d had Ben, Susie and Billy, Ben’s brother who died just before we left England, since 1994 and they’d done everything with us. They’d lived in Stockport with us then moved around Devon, onto Ireland and back to England again. When you’ve had animals that long they become intrinsically linked with all your memories which, although making it difficult at first, seems to help ease the hurt in the long term. Here’s a picture of the little stroppy tabby.

The puppies are thriving and some of them have their eyes open. They are so cute, I’ve never really seen tiny puppies before, and whilst as a cat person, I can’t say they are as cute as kittens, they’re still pretty darn sweet. Here’s hoping we find them some homes once they’re ready to leave Bonnie.
Junior and I have been looking at the pictures of snowy England on the internet and thanking our lucky stars that we’re here, for although Junior likes the look of the snow, when I told her how cold it was, she wasn’t quite so impressed. I’ve got all the windows open at the moment and the sun is streaming through. Glorious!
