Help!!
Bonnie, our lovely stray doggie, has been giving birth this morning and at the moment the total stands at 6 healthy little puppies. I’m hoping there are no more because it was 5 for quite a while but then she decided to make it an even half dozen.
My emotions are mixed. Of course seeing these beautiful newborn creatures is a joy but thinking about their future is making me worried. There is no way we can look after an additional 6 dogs. We don’t have the room, the time or the ability to control and protect them. A few weeks’ ago a friends dog was poisoned and died. He was a lovely dog who never strayed far from home but unless you keep your dog constantly under lock and key you can’t protect them from the harm some people wish to inflict.
I just peeked in on Bonnie then and now we appear to be up to 8 puppies!
Let’s hope a magic fairy appears to whisk them all in to nice new homes – some hope!
I think you are so wonderful by taking in all these animals. I think the hardest thing about living in certain places is getting used to some very different attitudes towards animals. I too am hoping that a magic fairy appears for those gorgeous pups
Well we have the word out amongst everybody we know so hopefully once they’re ready to leave Bonnie they will have homes to go to, fingers crossed.
Do you know Roger (Glossa Houses)? I could let him know and see if he knows anyone at that end of the island who would make a loving parent for a pup?
No, I don’t know him. Please feel free to let him know. I’ve now ascertained there are 5 boys and 3 girls and we would like to find homes for all of them!
