Magic Mushrooms
Mushrooms have always been one of my staple foods and I saw no reason for this to change when we moved to Skopelos. However this was not to be when we discovered that they were as pricey as gold and they only way we’d be able to afford them was if we won the lottery! Recently we have discovered a source of reasonably priced mushrooms (aka the local supermarket) and so we have been going mad with mushroom pate, mushroom and lentil pate and fried mushrooms on crispy white bread. I have some in the fridge now which will be mixed with some butter beans later (I’ve already cooked the butter beans and it’s not even afternoon yet!).
After going to the beach yesterday and taking a picnic which consisted solely of fruit (so healthy) I then got back home and made a cous cous salad, rice salad, pasta salad, a curry and a batch of chocolate brownies. I then melted in a corner! That’s a day or two’s worth of food sorted for us at least, junior is another matter! Fortunately she’s on a fruit kick at the moment and is devouring bananas, apples and pears but she has yet to make the transition to vegetables (apart from the ubiquitous carrot of course).
The only pic I’ve taken of food recently was a chocolate and banana pudding which was so quick and easy to make and so yummy that I’ll probably have to make it again (if I ever find the recipe).

I always seem to follow recipes when I make sweet things but not when I make savoury things hence I can always replicate the cakes and puddings but never anything else which can get a bit annoying sometimes but at least I don’t get bored of things!
