Butter bean yuck

Maybe not so much yuck but definitely not yum. In my quest for a vegan cheese I found myself turning to butter beans (takes all sorts!) and pulverizing them to resemble something cheese looking (but definitely not smelling). Needless to say Sean ate it, as did I, although I didn’t even bother showing it to junior as a girl can only take so many derogatory remarks in one day!
I have decided to try and get tough with the young lady’s eating habits though and last night I didn’t ask her what she wanted for dinner, I merely placed a bowl of spaghetti with tahini dressing in front of her. Yes, I know it sounds all wholesome and uninteresting and believe me I am the last vegan in the world who would force nuts and beans on anyone, but, hand on heart, I have to say it was really rather good. I know Sean is no guide as he eats anything but he polished it off and had seconds. Junior, of course, was less convinced. She sat at the table, peered in her bowl and said “that looks yuck, I’d rather eat my fingernails” which she then proceeded to do whilst Sean and I ignored her sulking. So she ended up with nothing for dinner and one of the cats jumped on the table after she’d moved and started to eat her spaghetti, he didn’t eat much though – everyone’s a critic!
I also made a lovely fruit loaf yesterday (with cherries in which means junior won’t have any) which is really quick and easy to make and rather filling. At first light this morning, even before breakfast, I was making another batch of soya milk – my life is sooooo hard!!
I’m now going to look on some vegan websites to see if they’re selling easter eggs off cheap so I can stock up before our Easter in a few weeks time.
