nearly, nearly
Currently sat in Athens awaiting the arrival of our cats very early tomorrow morning. They have the luxury of travelling by air whilst we have endured hours of driving across Europe. The channel tunnel was fine apart from the fact that it was so early in the morning. France was rain from beginning to end. Switzerland was tunnels and snow and Italy was expensive tolls and mad drivers. The ferry from Brindisi to Patra was fun for a 4 year old but not much fun for anyone else. Drive from Patra to Athens was uneventful apart from the fact that in order to afford to stay at a hotel near the airport we have each had to sell a kidney!!!
So once we’ve collected our cats tomorrow it’s a mad dash up to Volos to try and catch a ferry to Skopelos. If we miss it then it’s another hotel and ferry the following day. Feels like we’ve been travelling for days (oh wait, we have been) and we can’t wait to be out of the car and empty it of all our ‘essentials’ i.e. teddies, books and comics!!!
